A GREAT DECEPTION

The Ban – an Overview

In 1996, the Dalai Lama of Tibet implemented an illegal ban on an important practice of prayer that has existed in mainstream Buddhism for over 400 years.

The ban began by decree in Tibetan monasteries, but was intensified by the Dalai Lama’s exile government in 2008.  In order to receive an identity card giving them access to necessary services such as healthcare and travel visas, Tibetans worldwide were forced to take a public oath forsaking this practice.

Monks, nuns, men, women and children who have refused to take this oath have been ostracized by friends and family, and expelled from monasteries and schools. They have been fired from government jobs. Denied travel papers. Forbidden to enter certain stores and hospitals.  Because of their faith, they risk harassment and assault to their home, person, and loved ones living in Tibetan communities – including in free countries.

For generations, millions of people have been making prayers to the deity Dorje Shugden that compassion and wisdom will grow in their hearts and throughout the world. The Dalai Lama’s political ban against these prayers violates their basic human rights and religious freedoms. And his tenacious, secretive campaign to enforce the ban among Tibetans and the international Buddhist community has created unprecedented division, and endangers the pure Buddhist religion.

Yet the media stays strangely silent…overlooking this and many other questionable activities in Tibet exile lands.

Why, we need to ask, isn’t this high profile world leader subject to the same scrutiny and accountability as others? Do his public speeches reconcile with his actions at home? Do his activities follow Buddha’s teachings? Is the Dalai Lama authentic?

Someone needs to check.

Read this book. Check the Facts. Stop being fooled.
